Interfaces - Connection Circuits

Playstation Megatap

This interface allows you to connect up to 5 playstation pads in a parallel port, having separated Force Feedback each. You have to use an external 5V supply like a wall cube or you can get them from inside the computer, directly from the PSU or via an USB conector.

With this interface, the driver behaves exactly like the PSX does, turning on a bit which sets the pad in listen mode, and every pad shares the same data cable. The other one has a different data cable for each pad and allways set both them to listen which makes one to timeout and therefore it stops the feedback motor.

Note: 5v and 9v negative lines and the paralellel GND are all connected to the pin 6. These are the front view of the female conectors or the soldering side of the pad connector.

Playstation Multitap

You can connect this playstation device using the normal interface and then get to connect 4 pads to it. However it is less responsive (unnoticiable actually...) and does not have Force Feedback

Nintendo

For original NES

For NES clones

Atari - Comodore

To play a boxing game like in some episode of The Simpsons

Sega Genesis (new interface)

My favorite to make Sub-Zero's Brutality in Ultimate MK3

Just make sure to have the parallel port set in ECP or EPP mode in the BIOS setup.

This interface is uncompatible with DirectPad, however it is compatible with many "modern" parallel ports, witch the original does not, and it allows you to connect 2 pads!!
